SHIKARPUR: The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) secretary Wasim Ahmed Memon on Wednesday ordered to remove CNG cylinders from all public vehicles and imposed fine of Rs 18,000 on the owners to keep ‘illegal’ cylinders.
According to reports, the secretary intercepted many public transport vehicles including coaches, buses, coasters and wagons and removed CNG cylinders that were placed under the seats of passengers.
He said that he complied with the orders issued by Sindh High Court (SHC) and deputy commissioner of Shikarpur to remove illegal CNG cylinders.
“Keeping CNG cylinders under the seats of passengers is sheer violation of the law and could be dangerous for passengers as well,” he remarked.
Furthermore, he pledged to continue the crackdown for the safety of people.
