DADU: The wheat growers held a strike on Tuesday against selling of gunny bags to traders and its unfair distribution by the food department.
The affected growers marched through roads and staged a demonstration at SSP chowk. They blocked the traffic for five hours.
The protest was led by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) local leaders and growers Ghulam Mustafa Birohi and Ghulam Rasool Panhwar.
They chanted slogans against Dadu District Food Controller (DFC) Roshan Ali Mangi and alleged that DFC had sold 1.2 million gunny bags to the traders and political people while the growers had received nothing.
They demanded chairman of national accountability bureau (NAB) to conduct an inquiry against DFC of Dadu district.
