ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Kidney Centre Abbottabad is holding a one-day first-of-its-kind campaign in Hazara Division to raise awareness among public about common kidney diseases and risk factors for kidney failure. Pakistan Kidney Centre (PKC) Chief Executive Officer and eminent nephrologist Dr Khalilur Rehman and urologist from UK Dr Asim Chaudhry will deliver lectures at the Abbottabad Press Club today (Saturday), followed by a walk from press club to Jalal Baba Auditorium, according to a press release issued by the orgnisation. The PKC administration had urged people from all walks of life to take part in the activities to get awareness about common kidney diseases prevalent in Pakistan. In developing countries like Pakistan, many patients die of kidney failure because they cannot afford the treatment or they are unaware of their progressive kidney failure. With early diagnosis and treatment of kidney failure, patient can have a normal life. The PKC is a charity organisation providing free dialysis services to the patients from Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to Muzaffarabad district of Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
