CPEC will stabilise Pakistan’s economy very soon: PM Abbasi

Published on: April 10, 2018 4:12 PM

BEIJING: Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has on Tuesday said that Pakistan’s economy will be among the stable economies in the near future.

Addressing the Boao Forum for Asia’s annual conference, PM Abbasi said that the fourth industrial revolution was foreseeable in Pakistan’s future as the CPEC enhances connectivity and partnership with China. He added that joint ventures with China’s lead were paving a path of peace and prosperity.

The premier said that Pakistan and China’s companionship was the very base of strategic stability. He added that the bilateral bond of the two countries was reshaping Asia’s face as a brave new Asia with the China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) was emerging.

Abbasi further said that the Pak-China friendship was a model worth admiring as it has been open, coordinated and carries a broad development paradigm that benefits all stakeholders.

The premier continued about the efforts made by the long-lasting friendship, saying it will soon bear fruit. He added that the deep seaport of Gwadar will provide cost-effective and shortest maritime and overland access to Western China, Central and South Asia and the Middle East.

Abbasi stated that Pakistan had already started reaping benefits in surplus from the CPEC transportation network.

The Boao Forum for Asia hosts annual conferences at high-level forums for leaders of the government, businessmen and experts from all over Asia and other regions. Asia’s annual conference 2018 of Boao Forum commenced on April 8 and will last till April 11 under the theme of “An open and Innovative Asia for a World of Greater Prosperity” in China’s Hainan province.
