LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Tuesday returned a recovered amount of Rs 45.323 million in various corruption and embezzlement cases to the relative authorities. According to NAB, the recovered amount is being returned to the relative authorities on daily basis. During a cheque distribution ceremony held at NAB office in Lahore, amounts recovered in Pakistan Public Works Department, Citizen Community Board Sheikhupura, Bank of Punjab and Standard Chartered bank corruption cases were returned to the respective authorities. Moreover, amounts were also recovered from the accused in Gujranwala Irrigation Cooperation Housing Society, Pakistan Railways, Islamic Investment Banking and Habib Bank Limited cases. NAB spokesperson said that the authority shows zero tolerance against corruption and that all cases are scrutinised without external pressures and purely on merit.
