Me and judgement Have always had our problems It’s so fluent and unfiltered Often clunky and so graceless But so cold as it falls from the lips of a stranger And cooler still from the lips of a loved one Settles in and weighs on my thoughts And haunts me like a lover lost There are moments when I clear my head Shake and blink and wish it dead It’s weight unwelcome as I lay in bed Tell me then, judgement Are you fed? You cross my eyes And curl my fists Point them inwards And that’s where they hit You make me rage And question why All this control Why don’t you die?! You fester deep inside our souls So at home inside us all Latching on to simple thought What is this strength? Where is it from? Tell me judgement Do you have fun?
