Pantene Hum Showcase 2018 concluded on a high note as noteworthy actors walked the ramp for leading designers like Umar Sayeed and Elan. A total of six designers showcased their luxury pret and couture collections during the show which began and ended on time much to everyone’s delight. Legendary designer Umar Sayeed was the first to showcase his collection titled ‘Good as Gold’. The designer who sets trends, displayed a very eastern and a traditional couture and semi formal collection in a wide array of colours. Lehnga cholis, front open sleeveless coats and short sherwani coats for men were the highlights of the collection. The collection was bright and blingy with lots of voluminous flair. Superstar Mahira Khan showstopped for the designer wearing a pink and gold lehnga choli. Next up was Jazib Qamar with his collection titled ‘Yaksui’. We loved the collection for its refreshing and hip appeal, it’s breaking the monotony approach and how it was unique and creative. Funky separates, unconventional motifs and blingy jackets with coloured sequins were the key highlights of the collection. Sleeveless denims and metallic sneakers will definitely set a trend this season. Sania Maskatiya was next to showcase her Sahvar collection, which was based in a nude and an ivory white colour palette with lots of cutwork, strapless and off shoulder tops, peplum tops, saris, dhoti shalwar, boatshape neck, intricate work, sheer net and organza and low back blouses. We personally loved the sequined capes. Sania Maskatiya is a visionary designer and there are no two opinions about it. Misha Lakhani’s Modern Nomad collection was all about her signature statement outfits featuring monochromes and hues of bold red, mauve and teal. Casual wear short kurtis and shalwars, maxis and kaftans were part of her collection. Chapter 2 by Khaadi was next with its Urban Canvas collection. Subtle colours with abstract cuts and stripes, unprinted separates with matching chappals, straight trousers, kurtis, tops and scarves highlighted the collection. Urban Canvas came across as a little monotonous with no standout appeal. Khadijah Shah’s Elan showcased a collection as the grand finale titled Nafisa which featured interesting cuts. Choker neck short kurtis paired with shalwar, Best yellow and green cholis with intricate embroidery, courtesan dress. White and gold menswear sherwanis, saris with delicate motifs in a colour palette of pink, yellow and green were the strongest points of the collection. We adored the colour contrast of soft pink and silver. Actress Hania Amir and Ahad Raza Mir from upcoming Pakistan film ‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon’ showstopped for Elan.
