
Pakistani-American standup comedian, Kumail Nanjiani, has become quite prominent after having his film, ‘The Big Sick’, nominated for the Best Original Screenplay at the 90th Academy Awards. According to Robert Downey Jr, he will now be a part of the star voice cast for the upcoming movie, ‘The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle’. Nanjiani is reported to be the voice of an ostrich named Pumpton.

Along with Kumail Nanjiani, famous actors such as, John Cena, Octavia Spencer, Rami Malek Craig Robinson, Marion Cotillard, Carmen Ejogo, and Frances de la Tour have also joined the voice cast.
Robert Downey Jr, Tom Holland, Selena Gomez, Ralph Fiennes and Emma Thompson, had earlier been announced as the cast. Antonio Banderas, Jim Broadbent and Michael Sheen will present live-action characters in the film.
This film is being directed by Stephen Gaghan. It is built on the character from the 1920s series of children’s books by Hugh Lofting, The sequence illustrates a Victorian-time doctor who only treats animals because of his gift of being able to talk to them.
The film is scheduled to release on April 12, 2019.
