LAHORE: The family of a victim, Muhammad Hussain, has demanded Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Inspector General of Punjab Police Arif Nawaz, to provide justice to their son and issue orders to concerned police officers to avoid harassing them. The family reported that their son was not involved in any charges, but his name was in an FIR. They claimed that police was supporting his colleague named Shakeel Mahar and his nephew, who registered a fake FIR against their son. They alleged that some people kidnapped their son in front of the house at midnight around 10:45 pm on March 10, when he was entering home. The alleged accused then threw the victim on the road after beating him. Their son rushed to the police station to get legal assistance. However, police arrested him saying that he was already nominated in another FIR. In addition to this, Shakeel’s nephew and a few of his few friends opened a state fire on their house after kidnapping the victim; bullets marks are still present for proof. In a query, they replied that they immediately reported the incident to the police by calling them on the helpline. The police collected evidence and inquired about the incident from the crime scene. But, the police at present is making lame excuses and avoiding taking any legal action against the accused. It has now been more than two weeks. The family said that that police did not make an entry in the register after taking their son into custody on the night of the incident and unlawfully kept him away for almost two days. They said that court bailiff released their son from police custody on Monday. However, police failed to justify the bailiff the victim’s presence in Kot Lakhpat police station. They further added that previously a minor quarrel had taken place between the accused nephew and their son. Apparently, they had taken up an issue in a marriage function of a friend. They said that now revenge was being taken from their son in this way.
