SS Rajamouli has risen to worldwide fame after the success of his Baahubali saga. The film was well received in India as well as across the border. Owing to the success of the movies, the director got many invitations for various festivals including Tokyo and Berlin. With the Pakistan International Film Festival (PIFF) coming up, the director will be travelling to Pakistan for the screening of ‘Baahubali 2’, the second in line of his series, titled ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, which was played across 100 screens in Pakistan last year. The director is currently busy with the pre-production activities of his next film, with Ram Charan and Rama Rao. This project is likely to hit the floor from October. SS Rajamouli took to Twitter to announce the news. “Baahubali has given me opportunities to travel to a number of countries… The most exciting of them all is now, Pakistan. Thank you Pakistan International Film Festival, Karachi for the invite,” he wrote. Both parts of Baahubali have toured several international film festivals, including Golden Horse Film Festival in Taiwan, L’Etrange International Film Festival in Paris and the Moscow International Film Festival. PIFF 2018 will begin on March 29 in Karachi and is expected to run till April 1, 2018. This four-day festival will screen features, short films, and documentaries from Pakistan and from all around the world. The festival will be a big step for the Pakistani film industry. It will provide a good platform for excellent production from all around the world, including India. According to reports, other Indian films which will be part of PIFF include Alia Bhatt and Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dear Zindagi’, Rajat Kapoor’s ‘Ankhon Dekhi’, Irrfan Khan and Pakistani actress Saba Qamar’s ‘Hindi Medium’, Sanjay Mishra’s ‘Kadvi Hawa’, Swara Bhasker’s ‘Nil Battey Sannata’, and Marathi movie ‘Sairat’.
