MITHI, THARPARKAR: A 26 years old petroleum engineer and resident of Badin, Ayaz Hussain Jamali, working for an international petroleum company, Dar Petroleum’s Palouch Oil Field in South Sudan was kidnapped along with three local workers on Sunday, family members told Daily Times.According to Jamali’s younger brother Babar Jamali, he was kidnapped by rebels from South Sudan’s capital Juba a week ago followed by a worsening situation in South Sudan due to the conflict between the pro-government and anti-government forces. Babar who also works for the same petroleum company in Juba feared that his brother had been kidnapped for ransom- a frequently adopted tactic by rebels to meet up their war expenses, told the family over telephone. Babar also told the family that Ayaz Jamali has already resigned from the job and he had also booked a flight to come to Pakistan on Monday, but he was kidnapped on the same day. The family of Ayaz Jamali including his father, mother and sisters have appealed to Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan, CM Sindh, former Speaker National Assembly, MNA, Dr. Fehmida Mirza and others to take up the issue on diplomatic levels with Government of South Sudan for safe and early recovery of Jamali.
