People in Pakistan are going to miss the actress as much as the people in India, says Adnan Siddiqui

Published on: February 26, 2018 9:25 PM

People in Pakistan are going to miss the actress as much as the people in India, said local actor Adnan Siddiqui, who essayed the role of Sridevi’s onscreen husband in Mom.

“I am in Dubai. I was invited for Sridevi ji’s nephew’s wedding. She was there smiling and dancing, looking as beautiful and healthy as ever. Who would believe that she wouldn’t be here just four days later? I met her husband Boney Kapoor saab last on February 17,” said a bereaved Adnan.

The curtains have been unveiled, the reviews have kicked in & the masses have spoken, #MOM is received phenomenally worldwide! Where to begin & how to sum up such a project is story in itself. Getting the call for this character, gearing up for the workshops, getting to know the finest in our business & being expected to deliver my best was certainly not easy. However, it would have been impossible if it wasn’t for people like #BoneyKapoor Sb, the man who taught me quite a few things about filmmaking, #SriDevi gee, who proved why she was & is one of the best the world will ever see & undoubtedly, our home grown bundle of exceptional talent @sajalaly, who didn’t allow a single scene to be ordinary, these were my beacons throughout this project & the man who didn’t give up on anyone of us, the captain of the ship, our director #RaviUdyawar was an iceberg when it came to tackling petty to big issues & guided us all to victory. I have to thank the entire crew, which put up with my demands, who looks after me as I was a family member, people I spent countless days & nights prepping me up for a scene, feeding me with my choice of food, fulfilling my extraordinary cravings for coffee, I couldn’t have performed if it wasn’t you guys, #teamMOM deserves an applause. And finally, YOU ALL! All the efforts that we as actors make is to bring a smile on your face, make you forget all your worries for those 3 hours in cinema, try to console some of you with our loud expressions & try to relate to some of you with our characters, if you don’t approve of what we do, we would stand no where. For all the love that you have shown me from across the globe has humbled me, proved me again how small I am in front you all, thank you very much for your support & wishes. #MOM is running with packed houses in a cinema near you. Don’t miss out on the biggest blockbuster of the year! #Thankyou #AdnanSiddiqui #Mom

He also went on to say that he couldn’t bear to see Boney devastated, adding that it was honour for him to have worked alongside the revered actress in Mom.

Life is so unpredictable, A lady with not just extreme talent but also a beautiful soul, Sri Devi Kapoor leaves us heavy hearted. So many memories attached while shooting “MOM” with her, just a couple days back I met her at Boney Kapoor’s nephews wedding and who would have thought that it is the last time im seeing her. Im still in a state of shock and out of words to describe my feeling! May her soul rests in eternal peace hereafter.🙏

The actor was also quoted as saying by IANS, “I am truly saddened that she is no more with us and we won’t see her again. The people in Pakistan are going to miss her as much as the people in India. God give strength to her family.”
