A glimpse from first day of Lahore Eat food festival

Published on: April 1, 2017 12:38 PM

LAHORE: Lahore Eat, a food festival organised by Latitude CRS, commenced with all its glory yesterday.

Lahore and food are but of course synonymous to one another hence an entire festival dedicated to food and only food is bound to be a huge hit among the public. The festival was initially bound to happen in February but due to some political and security apprehensions was postponed. But much to the delight of Lahoris and foodies the festival happened at last.

The festival took place in Fortress Stadium, Lahore, which was decorated on all four sides with food stalls, ranging from big eateries to small home-based ones.

Chefs and owners were present at the stalls engaging the audience and talking to them about food, a conversation Lahoris absolutely adore.

There was an epic variety in food from sweet to savoury and everything in between. Meat, sea-food, vegetarian and a wide range of deserts were present for the audience to devour.

Special care was taken of hygiene and since practically everything was made live there were little chances of food being unhygienic.

People entered with the jubilance of five-year-olds upon entering a candy shop moving from stall to stall trying out what the fest had to offer. A fragrance of BBQ disseminated the air. Stalls were carefully selected to meet the needs of any type of food lover from any age group.

To engage the audience for a longer period various activities were arranged for them, there was music, live and otherwise, games and jumping castles to keep the children busy while the parents enjoyed their time out in an arena of food.

The festival started at 4.30 PM and continued late into the night till 1.00 AM. People started arriving in abundance in the evening around 6.00 PM and most stayed till the end of the night.

The scintillating dhamaal towards the end concluded the festival beautiful, some people from the audience joined in on the dhamaal to digest and burn off all the calories from an entire day of eating.

Special arrangements were made for security, considering the already tense air around the issue. It must have been challenging since the stadium was big but there were no problems so far.

The venue, Fortress Stadium, was spacious enough hence such a massive crowd was comfortable and transition between entry and exit was very smooth.

Tickets are selling online; you may grab your ticket as there are two more days to go. There is also an easier way to purchase tickets and get a discount both during and after the festival by downloading the SimSim app. You can learn more from its representatives at the entry of the festival.

Here’s to hoping the remaining two days go as smoothly as the first one.
