CJP takes suo moto notice of F-8 park encroachment in Islamabad

Published on: February 5, 2018 6:29 PM

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Monday took suo moto notice on the alleged encroachment of a public park in F-8 sector of the federal capital.

Justice Nisar took notice after an uproar on social as well as the mainstream media, and ordered Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sheikh Ansar Aziz to present a report on the issue within three days.

As per reports, lawyers in the federal capital had allegedly encroached a public park to build their chambers. CDA issued eviction orders , but the lawyers countered it with a stay order by Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the notice.

Former Punjab Police Inspector-General (IG) Shaukat Javed asked the SC to take notice of the issue via his Twitter account.

Will Apex court take notice of Lawyers illegally occupying a play ground of F8 Islamabad. They have even sublet the illegally occupied shops and offices. This is happening in the federal capital right under the nose of all three organs of Govt.

Lawyer and Columnist Yasmeen Ali also questioned the CDA and Judiciary on the matter.
