It wasn’t long ago when eight-year-old Zainab’s murder caused a stir around the entire nation. Celebrities from all across Pakistan came together in solidarity in their call to demand justice for her death. While the wound is still fresh, it is no surprise to recall the many cases even before Zainab, where minors have been subjected to torture and cruelly brutalised by strangers. Now recently, there has been a social media outrage over an incident revolving around a nine-year-old, named Muhammad Hussain, being beaten to death by his teacher. It has been reported that the child was unwilling to study, this infuriated the madrasa teacher who beat him with sticks, eventually causing him to lose his life. Addressing the issue, singer and actor Ali Zafar took to Twitter to give his two cents on the matter at hand. He further added in a tweet how these self-proclaimed religious teachers are invigorating the wrong kind of Islam, different from what our religion teaches us. pic.twitter.com/PTjOaeW115 — Ali Zafar (@AliZafarsays) January 22, 2018 While the teacher has been taken into custody, the parents have refused to file against him stating that they forgive him. A video was later released on Twitter wherein the teacher confessed to beating Hussain. I don’t know for how long children have to give their life to reveal the curtain from the ugliness of society. Parents are equally involved in this. What kind of Islam we are taking about here? #JusticeForHussain — Justice For Zainab 🇵🇰 (@RustyBrainSt0rm) January 22, 2018
