Days after the horrific Kasur incident where a lifeless eight-year-old Zainab was recovered from a heap of trash, raped and murdered, many Pakistani celebrities from all over the country came forward to voice their concern over the grave matter.
Renowned actor Nadia Jamil was one of the first to express her despair and anger on the terrifying incident, Freiha Altaf followed suit later. While doing so, both the ladies opened up about their own dreadful episodes and personal experiences with childhood and sexual abuse.
Not only Jamil and Altaf but fashion designer Maheen Khan also had something to say:
#childabuse #saynotochildabuse #metoo The Maulvi who came to teach me the Quran abused me sexually .I froze in fear day after day .

A wave of celebrities further jumped on the bandwagon just in the nick of time:
Heart dents💔 everytime I hear of abuse. It’s v brave of u @FriehaAltaf and @NJLahori to be speaking out, giving courage and support to other victims. The shame is not your’s, it is our society’s, that you had to suffer in silence. Kudos for speaking out #NoMoreChildAbuse https://t.co/rNENxuNs82

Sexual abuse can occur in families even & crosses class barriers. Victims/survivors have been silenced too long – shame should be the perpetrator’s.
Listen to yr kids, watch them, notice behavior changes that could tell of a deeper discomfort #JusticeforZainab #NoMoreChildAbuse https://t.co/sZg3iPprvE— Fifi Haroon (@fifiharoon) January 14, 2018
