KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah hosted a reception for visiting Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and his delegation at the Chief Minister’s House on Friday. The chief minister along with his cabinet members, Nisar Khuhro, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani, Jam Mehtab Dahar, Sindh Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon, Planning and Development Chairman Mohamad Waseem and Principal Secretary Sohail Rajput held a meeting with London Mayor Sadiq Khan, Deputy Mayor Rajesh and other delegation members. In the meeting they discussed business opportunities in Sindh, exchange of businessmen delegations and explore other opportunities in trade and commerce. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that the visit of the mayor to Karachi and his meetings with businessmen was a good move towards promotion of trade and commerce. He said that this visit of the mayor is of a great value in terms of interaction between business delegates he has brought with him to meet with businessmen of Pakistan based in Karachi. Addressing the reception, the chief minister said that he was glad to receive the mayor at the CM’s House. “We are proud that our Muslim and Pakistani brother is the mayor of London,” he said, adding: “Our policy towards investment is quite friendly.” He added, “I am proud to be the mayor of a city, which is known for having best educational institutions from where your politicians, doctors, engineers have received education from London,” the mayor said while referring to noted Pakistanis who had studied there. He said he had brought a delegation of businessmen to interact with businessmen of Karachi and explore investment opportunities. The reception was attended by prominent businessmen, former players of hockey, cricket and Squash, academicians and others.
