Accession to Pakistan Day milestone in Kashmir’s freedom struggle: governor

Published on: July 20, 2026 1:15 AM

Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has said that Accession to Pakistan Day is a milestone in Kashmir’s freedom struggle and the completion of Pakistan.

In his message on Accession to Pakistan Day, he said that on 19 July 1947, the people of Kashmir made a historic decision to link their future with Pakistan.

The Governor of Sindh said that the decision by the Kashmiri leadership reflected their unwavering faith in the Two-Nation Theory. He said that every Pakistani stands with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their struggle for the right to self-determination.

The Governor said that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan, and the dawn of freedom will soon rise.

Hashmi said that Indian oppression and repression cannot suppress the Kashmiri people’s spirit of freedom.

The international community should resolve the Kashmir issue in accordance with the United Nations resolutions, he said, adding that the international community’s silence over the ongoing human rights violations in Kashmir is a matter of grave concern.
