Envoy welcomes US IDFC’s interest to invest in key sectors

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, has welcomed the US International Development Finance Corporation’s interest for investing in key sectors of Pakistan’s economy.

He was talking to Chief Executive Officer of the US International Development Finance Corporation, Benjamin Black, at a meeting in Washington.

The Ambassador also welcomed the US International Development Finance Corporation, interest in investing Pakistan’s energy, infrastructure, ports, minerals and information technology sectors.

During the meeting, they discussed matters related to strengthening bilateral partnership and investment cooperation. He said a strong economic partnership would certainly underwrite and lend longevity to the increasingly important bilateral relationship.

The two sides also reviewed progress on ongoing and potential projects and agreed upon nomination of dedicated focal points with a view to ensuring steady progress by prioritizing avenues of engagement. On the occasion, Ambassador Rizwan Saeed Sheikh presented official FIFA World Cup 2026 soccer ball-Trionda- as a gift symbolizing Pakistan’s potential.

The Ambassador said Pakistan’s continued selection as a manufacturer of the official FIFA World Cup football is a matter of pride and confidence for the country. In his remarks, Benjamin Black praised the quality of Trionda and reaffirmed the US International Development Finance Corporation’s commitment to continuing its partnership in support of Pakistan’s socio-economic development and infrastructure improvement.
