PM hails outgoing SAARC secretary general for service to regional cooperation

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday appreciated the Secretary General of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar for his dedicated service and leadership in advancing regional cooperation during his tenure.

The secretary general of SAARC, paid his farewell call on here at the Prime Minister House, a PM’s Office news release said.

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to the SAARC Charter and underscored the importance of revitalizing regional cooperation to promote connectivity, sustainable development, and the shared prosperity of the peoples of South Asia.

PM Shehbaz wished Ambassador Md. Golam Sarwar every success in his future endeavors.

The SAARC secretary general thanked the prime minister for Pakistan’s support extended to him during his tenure as head of SAARC.
