Gas pipeline blown up in Bannu

Unknown saboteurs blew up a gas pipeline with explosives in Bannu district, disrupting gas supply. According to police on Monday, the incident occurred in Amir Hamza Khas within the jurisdiction of Huvaid Police Station. Explosive material had reportedly been planted near the pipeline, causing damage in the ensuing blast. Police said gas continued to leak after the explosion adding that relevant authorities were immediately informed so that repair work and safety measures could be undertaken. Police and security personnel rushed to the scene soon after receiving information and initiated measures to secure the area. Police have launched an investigation to identify those responsible and are collecting evidence from the site.
