FAISALABAD: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) shot dead three terrorists belonging to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) near Sandil Bar area in Faisalabad on Sunday.
According to CTD spokesman, at least five militants of TTP were making their way to Faisalabad from Sandil Bar area. Counterterrorism officials stopped them after receiving a tip-off.
Following the arrival of CTD officers, the terrorists opened fire at the personnel and an exchange of gunfire ensued. Three terrorists were killed. However, two managed to flee the area.

“Weapons, explosives, detonators and motorcycles were seized from the possession of the terrorists,” the spokesman added.

The law enforcement agencies (LEAs) personnel foiled a major terror bid in Kohlu as they seized a huge cache of arms, ammunition and explosives on Sunday.

Kohlu Deputy Commissioner Agha Naveed said that security personnel had launched joint operation against militants in Kahan area of the Kohlu district of Balochistan on an intelligence report.

During the operation, 181 rockets, 172 fuses, a 75MMRR gun, 80 rounds and explosive material was seized.

Security forces on Sunday arrested 11 members of Balochistan Republican Army (BRA).

The terrorists were nabbed from the Sanni Shoran area in Sibi in an operation under Raddul Fasaad, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The Frontier Corps and intelligence agencies recovered the weapons during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Dera Bugti and Dukki.

Four improvised explosive devices (IED) were also seized and later defused in a separate operation in Qila Saifullah, said the ISPR.

“More than 400 outlaws including proclaimed offenders (POs) were arrested besides recovery of arms and drugs from their possession during one month operations in different areas of Hangu,” Hangu District Police Officer (DPO) Ahsanullah Khan said in a statement issued on Sunday.

He said that under the supervision of DSP Umer Hayat Khan, police teams, headed by SHOs of all police stations of Hangu, had conducted operations against criminals in jurisdiction of concerned police stations.

Ahsanullah Khan said that during last one month, 400 outlaws were arrested from different areas of Hangu district.

Arms including seven kalashnikovs, three rifles, eight guns, 32 pistols, one Kalakov, hand grenades, thousands of rounds of different bores, five kilogram hashish, 1.13 kilogrammes of heroin, and other drugs were recovered from possession of the detainees.

The DPO said that cases against the detainees were registered at concerned police stations and they were being interrogated.
