Musk predicts AI will surpass human intelligence soon

Elon Musk predicts big on AI: 'AI could be smarter than the sum of all humans soon…' | - The Times of India

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has once again made bold predictions about the future of artificial intelligence (AI), saying the technology is advancing so rapidly that it could surpass overall human intelligence within the next few years.

Responding to a user on social media platform X, Musk stated that AI is likely to move beyond human intellectual capabilities within the next four to five years. According to him, the pace of development in the field has accelerated significantly, bringing the world closer to an era in which intelligent machines can perform many tasks currently handled by humans.

Musk described AI as one of the most transformative technologies in human history and suggested that it has the potential to reshape societies and economies on a global scale. He argued that AI-powered systems could boost creativity, simplify manufacturing processes, and make products and services more affordable and accessible.

The Tesla, SpaceX and X owner also predicted that humanoid robots and advanced machines will soon be capable of carrying out a wide range of human activities. He said industries across the world are expected to rely increasingly on AI-driven technologies, resulting in lower costs, greater efficiency and improved productivity.

His latest comments are consistent with remarks he made earlier at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2026. At the time, Musk said he believed AI could become smarter than any individual human by the end of the year. He also suggested that by 2030 or 2031, AI may surpass the combined intelligence of all humans.

Musk further predicted that advances in AI and robotics would lead to unprecedented economic growth. He said humanoid robots could become a common part of everyday life and may even be available to ordinary consumers in the near future.

While experts continue to debate the timeline and implications of such developments, Musk remains one of the strongest advocates for the view that AI and robotics will fundamentally transform how people live, work and interact with technology in the decades ahead.
