Timothée Chalamet is celebrating New York Knicks victory after over a five decade championship drought. Shortly after the final match of the 2026 NBA took place on Saturday, June 13, at the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, the Dune star took to his Instagram Stories to mark the feat. He reveled in the historic moment by sharing an image of a mock New York Post front page emblazoned with the headline “CHAMPS!” splashed across the cover. The photos depicts jubilant Knicks players celebrating what it describes as the franchise’s first NBA title in 53 years. The well-known, longtime and passionate Knicks supporter’s social media update reflected the emotion felt across the fan base after decades of waiting for another championship as the team last won an NBA title in 1973. “Knicks break 53-year drought, win NBA title,” the subheadline of the fabricated newspaper read. As for Chalamet, he has become a familiar presence courtside at Knicks games during recent playoff runs. Interestingly the Marty Supreme lead explicitly said he would rather have the Knicks’ championship victory over an Oscar after his recent Academy Award loss.
