US President Donald Trump has announced that a US-Iran agreement has been reached, describing it as a major breakthrough after months of negotiations. However, Iranian authorities have not yet officially confirmed the deal, leaving uncertainty about its final status despite the optimistic statements from Washington.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump declared that the agreement with the Islamic Republic of Iran was complete and congratulated all parties involved. He also announced that the United States would immediately remove its naval blockade and authorize the toll-free reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key global oil shipping route.
According to reports, Pakistan played a significant role in mediation efforts and has indicated that an official signing ceremony is expected to take place in Switzerland on Friday. The proposed agreement is expected to begin a new phase of negotiations that could continue for another 60 days as both sides work toward a broader settlement.

Trump said the agreement would include commitments by Iran not to pursue nuclear weapons and would allow inspections of its nuclear program. He also suggested that sanctions relief could be considered in the future, while emphasizing that Iran would not receive direct cash payments under the arrangement.
Despite the announcement, important details of the deal have not yet been released and Iranian officials have remained silent on Trump’s claims. Analysts note that conflicting statements from Washington and Tehran indicate that several issues may still need to be resolved before the US-Iran agreement is formally signed and implemented.
