
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that a US-Iran peace deal has been reached following intensive negotiations between the two countries. In a statement shared on social media, he said both sides have agreed to the immediate and permanent cessation of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon, marking a major diplomatic breakthrough.
According to the prime minister, the official signing ceremony for the agreement is scheduled to take place on June 19 in Switzerland. He described the development as an important step toward peace and stability in the region after a period of heightened tensions.
Shehbaz Sharif thanked the United States and Iran for their commitment to pursuing a diplomatic solution to the conflict. He said the willingness of both countries to engage in dialogue played a key role in achieving the agreement.

The prime minister also expressed gratitude to the countries that supported the mediation efforts. He acknowledged the leadership of Qatar for its role in facilitating discussions and praised Saudi Arabia and Türkiye for their contributions to advancing the peace process.
He further stated that mediators will hold a series of meetings ahead of the signing ceremony to discuss implementation details and technical matters. According to the prime minister, the US-Iran peace deal could pave the way for greater regional stability and open a new chapter in diplomatic relations between the two nations.
