Traffic plan issued around Minar-e-Pakistan for Shaheed Ummat Conference

Published on: June 14, 2026 4:27 AM

Lahore Traffic Police have issued a special traffic advisory and diversion plan on the occasion of “Shaheed Ummat Conference” being held at Minar-e-Pakistan. Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi visited Greater Iqbal Park, parking stands and diversion points and reviewed the arrangements. The conference is being held at Minar Pakistan Ground under the auspices of Ittehad-Ummat Forum.

According to the traffic police, all types of traffic going towards Azadi Flyover have been diverted to alternative routes. The road from Timber Market to Azadi Flyover has been completely closed, while traffic on both sides of Azadi Flyover from Pir Makki and Lorry Adda has also been suspended.

According to the CTO, traffic coming to Lahore from Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Kamoke and Muridke has been directed to enter the city through Kala Shah Kaku Interchange, Eastern Bypass and Ring Road. Similarly, traffic going from Secretariat and Lower Mall to Shahdara is being diverted via District Courts, Outfall Road and Sagian, while vehicles going to Shahdara from Railway Station are being diverted via Sabzi Mandi.

The traffic police has appealed to the citizens to avoid unnecessary travel on Minar Pakistan, Greater Iqbal Park and adjoining highways so that traffic flow can be maintained.

Four DSPs, 30 traffic inspectors and 500 traffic wardens have been deployed under the supervision of SP Traffic. Citizens are being kept informed about the traffic situation moment by moment through Rasta App, Rasta FM, electronic and social media.
