UoL awarded 5 Stars rating

Published on: June 13, 2026 6:44 AM

The University of Lahore has been awarded an overall 5 Stars rating – designated “Rated Excellent” – by QS Stars, the international evaluation system developed by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). The 2026 recognition, signed by Leigh Kamolins, Vice President, Evaluation and Insights at QS, was granted following rigorous and independent data collection and analysis of the university’s performance against pre-established international benchmarks set out in the QS Stars methodology.

The university earned five stars in seven of the nine assessed categories – Teaching, Research, Facilities, Employability, Medicine, Environmental Impact, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion – alongside four-star ratings in Global Engagement and Good Governance.

The QS Stars system evaluates universities across a wide spectrum of performance indicators, assessing a broader scope of criteria than any world ranking exercise. The breadth of the 2026 result – spanning academic core functions, clinical education, sustainability, and institutional inclusion – reflects strength across the full operation of the university rather than in isolated areas.

Founded in 1999, the University of Lahore has grown into one of Pakistan’s largest private universities, with enrollment exceeding 35,000 students across undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. Sustained investment in research capacity, international partnerships and campus development has been central to this result.
