The federal government has earmarked more than Rs 36.3 billion for ongoing development projects under the Federal Education and Professional Training Division in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2026-27, according to official PSDP documents. The allocation covers a wide range of initiatives, including the establishment of Daanish schools, expansion of educational infrastructure, teacher training programmes, information technology projects, efforts to improve access to quality education across the country and the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme.
Rs 46bn for HEC
The federal government allocated 46 billion for Higher Education Commission (HEC)’s project under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2026-27, according to official PSDP documents. The allocation covers a wide range of initiatives, including academic and Research Linkages with different countries/agencies under Bilateral Agreements, academic collaboration under the CPEC consortium of universities, establishment of institutes and hostels, initiatives under the Prime Minister Youth Program, and others. These initiatives further strengthen not only education infrastructure but also enhance the opportunities for local students to study abroad.
Govt allocates over Rs 19.58bn for IT Division
The federal government has allocated about Rs 19.58 bln under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2026-27 for information technology and digital transformation projects, reflecting its focus on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure and technology-led economic growth.
According to budget documents issued on Friday, Rs 16,294.936 million has been set aside for ongoing schemes, while Rs. 185.064 and Rs.3,000 million had been allocated for new initiatives.
