The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert for several cities across the country, warning of a sharp rise in temperatures from June 7 to June 12. The advisory highlights intense heat conditions affecting multiple regions simultaneously.
According to the forecast, Karachi will experience temperatures ranging between 40°C and 43°C during the heatwave period. Meanwhile, authorities warned that extreme weather conditions could place additional pressure on public health and daily life in urban areas.

Furthermore, parts of Sindh and Balochistan are expected to face even harsher conditions, with temperatures likely to climb between 48°C and 51°C. Several districts in Punjab may also see highs between 44°C and 48°C under the ongoing heatwave system.
In addition, the plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are forecast to experience sustained heat, with temperatures expected to remain between 41°C and 46°C. Weather experts have advised that prolonged exposure could increase the risk of heat-related illnesses across vulnerable populations.

Meanwhile, the weather department has urged citizens to avoid direct sunlight between 10 am and 4 pm, when heat intensity remains at its peak. It also recommended staying hydrated, limiting outdoor activity, and taking precautionary steps to reduce health risks during extreme conditions.
Overall, officials emphasized that the heatwave may persist for several days, requiring strict public awareness and safety measures. They added that timely precautions can help reduce heat-related emergencies across affected regions.
