Two Counter Terrorism Department’s (CTD) officials have been dismissed for links with drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky in Karachi. Those dismissed included Constable Ali Qureshi and ASI Kafeel. According to CTD sources, both were accused of having links with Pinky in the past years. Kafeel Awan had caught one of Pinky’s bike riders a few years ago. After the rider’s arrest, his contacts with Pinky increased. Both officials were dismissed after the inquiry report against them was completed. Ali Qureshi and Kafeel were also taken into custody a few days ago and formal statements of both were also recorded. Forensic analysis of Kafeel Awan and Ali Qureshi’s mobile phones was also conducted. Details of bank accounts of both officials were also obtained. Meanwhile, the Judicial Magistrate gave the investigating officers time till June 9 to file the challan in 7 cases of murder and drugs against Anmol Pinki. The date has been fixed for June 8 to record the statement of the plaintiff under Section 164 of the Act.
