The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has sought response from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the Health Department and relevant authorities regarding the lack of a District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital and inadequate healthcare facilities in Upper South Waziristan.
The petition was heard by a two-member bench comprising Justice Ejaz Anwar and Justice Inamullah Khan.
During the hearing, counsel for the petitioner, Advocate Sajjad Mehsud, argued that despite Upper South Waziristan being granted the status of a district, a DHQ Hospital has yet to be established there. He informed the court that the existing health centers in the district lack modern and basic medical facilities, causing significant hardships for the local population.
