Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has expressed confidence that his party will win the upcoming Gilgit-Baltistan elections and form the next government in the region. He said the people will support PPP in large numbers, paving the way for what he described as a “jiyala chief minister” after the polls.
Moreover, addressing a large public gathering in Gilgit-Baltistan, Bilawal said enthusiasm among PPP workers was clearly visible across election camps. He added that the party’s campaign momentum reflects strong public support ahead of the June 7 elections.

He further claimed that rival political parties appear concerned about the electoral contest. According to him, PPP supporters remain highly motivated, while some opponents are showing anxiety due to internal political challenges and limited regional influence.
In addition, Bilawal alleged that certain parties depend on financial strength rather than public backing in Gilgit-Baltistan. He argued that such strategies would not succeed against growing political awareness among voters who are increasingly focused on development and governance issues.

Meanwhile, the PPP chairman announced plans to increase funding for the Benazir Income Support Programme in the upcoming federal budget. He said the expansion aims to provide stronger financial assistance to low-income families and improve social protection coverage nationwide.
Furthermore, Bilawal urged faster progress on the Diamer-Bhasha Dam and credited PPP-era projects such as CPEC and urban transport initiatives for national development. He also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to constitutional and democratic rights for Gilgit-Baltistan under the broader governance framework.
