Addressing a press conference alongside Majeed Ghauri and Advocate Shahid Abbas, PPP leader Faisal Mir claimed that traffic police officials were forcibly removing the party’s publicity material from private vehicles. He termed the action unjustified, insisting that the material had not been displayed on government property.
Mir further alleged that the Lahore deputy commissioner’s office had summoned Mr Ghauri and asked him to halt the party’s membership drive. He added that the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) issued a notice amounting to Rs874,000 to the PPP’s Lahore office for political activities conducted at a building in Johar Town.

The PPP leader said that despite being an ally of the PML-N, the party was being targeted by government officials acting against the ruling alliance’s interests. He demanded an inquiry into the actions of the DC, chief traffic officer (CTO), and the LDA, questioning why no notices were being issued to PML-N offices across the city.
Advocate Shahid Abbas warned that the PPP would initiate legal proceedings, arguing that Article 16 allows citizens to display party flags and banners on private property. Meanwhile, an LDA official claimed the notice was issued because the plot in use was allegedly being used for commercial purposes without legal compliance.
