Pakistan launches post-Hajj flight operation for 119,000 pilgrims

Published on: June 1, 2026 2:29 AM

Arrangements have been finalised for the return of 119,000 Pakistani pilgrims who performed Hajj under the government scheme, official sources said.

According to sources, the post-Hajj flight operation will commence on June 1, with 22 flights scheduled to bring pilgrims back to Pakistan. A further 23 flights are expected to arrive on June 2, carrying returning pilgrims from Saudi Arabia.

The month-long repatriation operation will continue until June 30, when the final flight is scheduled to land in Lahore.

Pilgrims will be transported from the holy cities of Madina and Jeddah through a total of 471 flights operated under the government Hajj scheme.

The operation will be jointly carried out by Pakistani government airlines, private carriers, and Saudi airlines to ensure the smooth and timely return of pilgrims to their hometowns across the country.

KP CM commends Saudi govt for exemplary Hajj arrangements

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Muhammad Sohail Afridi has sent a special letter to Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, expressing appreciation for exemplary arrangements provided by Saudi government to pilgrims during Hajj 2026. In a statement issued on Sunday, KP CM extended his gratitude on behalf of people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, specifically praising high-quality accommodations, effective administrative measures, organized strategy, and wonderful hospitality that defined this year’s pilgrimage.

He said pilgrims returning to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have spoken of seamless support and services they received from Saudi authorities at every stage of their spiritual journey.

He said that KP government deeply values and respects Saudi Arabia’s continuous commitment, extraordinary efforts, and historic role in hosting millions of pilgrims from around the world.

Reaffirming the deep-rooted bond between the two nations, KP CM reiterated that the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are built on a solid foundation of mutual respect, trust, and shared Islamic values that continue to grow even stronger over time.
