Karachi court extends Anmol custody till May 22

Published on: May 16, 2026 6:26 PM

A judicial magistrate on Saturday remanded alleged drug queenpin Anmol alias Pinky into police custody until May 22 in a narcotics case. The decision came after police requested physical remand for further investigation into multiple drug-related cases. The development marks a key step in an expanding probe into alleged drug networks.

Anmol was arrested earlier this week from her apartment in Karachi in connection with narcotics possession and an unlicensed weapon case. Authorities said she was already facing multiple criminal cases prior to her arrest. Moreover, investigators believe she may be linked to a wider drug distribution network.

On Saturday, she was produced before a Karachi Central Special Magistrate under the Sindh Control of Narcotic Substances Act. Earlier hearings across different districts had seen mixed decisions on her custody requests. Consequently, courts had been reviewing multiple cases linked to her simultaneously.

Police said a broad investigation is underway, including possible involvement of foreign actors in the drug network. Authorities are also examining inter-provincial links as part of the probe. Furthermore, law enforcement agencies in Punjab have reopened older cases connected to her and associates.

Officials said the investigation has expanded after new leads surfaced regarding network members in other regions. Police teams are now actively pursuing suspected accomplices across multiple districts. The case continues to develop as authorities deepen their inquiry into the alleged drug operation.
