
Pakistan has assured the United States of full security arrangements for American companies working on the Reko Diq project. The assurance came during a meeting between Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and US Assistant Secretary of State S Paul Kapur. The discussions focused on investment protection, regional security, and bilateral cooperation.
Both sides reviewed operational frameworks aimed at strengthening long-term investor confidence in the Reko Diq mining project. The initiative is considered one of Pakistan’s largest foreign investment ventures. Moreover, officials emphasized the importance of stable conditions for sustained economic engagement.

Naqvi said Pakistan-US relations have strengthened and are based on mutual trust and shared objectives. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to cooperation in counterterrorism and counter-narcotics efforts. Furthermore, he highlighted ongoing coordination on regional security challenges.
The meeting also covered the possibility of restoring direct flights between Pakistan and the United States. Naqvi said improved connectivity could boost trade, education, and diaspora links. Additionally, both sides discussed developments in the broader Middle East region.
