
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday held talks with an Egyptian delegation to expand cooperation in counter-terrorism, cybercrime, and narcotics control. Both sides also discussed strengthening safe city initiatives and institutional collaboration. The meeting reflects growing security ties between Pakistan and Egypt.
According to the Interior Ministry, both countries agreed to enhance coordination between their respective interior ministries. Officials said cooperation will also extend to joint training programs for police officers. Furthermore, the National Police Academy and Egypt’s police academy will work together on capacity building.

The Egyptian delegation, led by senior interior ministry officials, also visited key Pakistani security institutions. These included the Anti-Narcotics Force and the National Police Academy. They described the visits as useful for sharing operational experience and best practices.

Naqvi said the engagement would open new avenues for bilateral security cooperation. He added that Pakistan would send a delegation to Egypt for further discussions. Moreover, he stressed practical steps to strengthen long-term institutional ties between the two countries.

Earlier, both countries conducted a two-week joint counter-terror exercise named “Thunder-II.” Officials said the exercise improved coordination in security operations and reinforced mutual trust. Analysts view the continued engagements as part of broader regional security collaboration.
