Imran Khan ‘lost vision’, alleges PTI leader

Published on: May 13, 2026 10:30 PM

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has alleged that jailed former prime minister Imran Khan has lost vision in one eye due to alleged torture in custody. He made the statement while speaking to reporters outside the Supreme Court, intensifying political tensions over Khan’s imprisonment and health condition.

Raja claimed that Imran Khan has been in jail for nearly 1,000 days and that the party has exhausted all legal options. He said PTI now sees street protests as the only remaining course of action. He also alleged that restrictions on meetings with Khan and legal access are being violated despite court orders.

Meanwhile, Raja said Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are facing serious health risks in custody. He added that family members, including Khan’s sisters, are being denied access. He argued that such restrictions are unprecedented and violate constitutional rights of prisoners.

Furthermore, PTI leaders reiterated that several cases against Imran Khan are politically motivated and based on false testimonies. Senior lawyer Hamid Khan also raised concerns over delays in court hearings and lack of access to legal counsel. The party has filed petitions seeking improved prison conditions and meeting rights.

Overall, the claims come amid ongoing legal proceedings and multiple convictions involving Imran Khan, including the Toshakhana case. Authorities have previously reported medical treatment and eye procedures during his detention. Khan remains incarcerated in Adiala Jail while facing several pending cases.
