An awards ceremony was held at the President’s House where President Asif Ali Zardari conferred national honours on individuals for outstanding services across multiple sectors. Federal Minister Owais Leghari received the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for reforms in the energy sector. Adviser Muhammad Ali was also awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for contributions to privatisation and public service. Cricketer Shahid Afridi was honoured with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his services to sports, while mountaineer Shehroze Kashif’s award was received by his mother.

Meanwhile, several literary and diplomatic figures were also recognised for their contributions. These included awards of Sitara-e-Pakistan and Nishan-e-Imtiaz for services in governance, literature, and public administration. Late Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan and other prominent personalities were posthumously honoured for their roles in democracy and national service.
Furthermore, multiple individuals were awarded Sitara-e-Shujaat and Hilal-e-Shujaat for acts of bravery and sacrifice. These included police officers, soldiers, and civilians who lost their lives in the line of duty. Officials praised their courage in counterterrorism operations and national defence.
