Officials said the vacation schedule will apply uniformly to all schools, ensuring consistency across both government-run and privately managed institutions.
Earlier this week, similar decisions were also made in other provinces, reflecting growing concerns over the impact of heatwaves on students’ health and learning conditions.
In Punjab, the education authorities had already adjusted school timings in several districts and, in some cases, considered early summer vacations due to extreme weather conditions.
The Punjab Disaster Management Authority had also issued warnings and emergency guidelines for schools and district administrations, urging them to take precautionary measures against heat-related risks.
Over the past few weeks, Pakistan has experienced unusually high temperatures in multiple regions, prompting authorities to review school schedules and implement safety measures for students.
Education officials in Sindh have advised parents and schools to prepare for the early onset of summer break and ensure that academic plans are adjusted accordingly.

The annual summer vacation period typically serves as a safeguard against heat stress, especially in urban areas like Karachi where temperatures often rise sharply during peak summer months.
Authorities have also indicated that the schedule may be reviewed if weather conditions change significantly, although no such adjustments have been announced at this stage.
