Kinnaird College clinch Lahore Intervarsity League Cricket title

Lahore: Kinnaird College for Women emerged as champions of the Lahore Intervarsity League Cricket Tournament after defeating University of Education by nine wickets in the final at the Kinnaird College Lahore.

University of Education won the toss and elwcted to bat first. They could score paltry 35 for 7 in six overs. Onky Tehreem played well, scoring 15 runs while no other batter of University of Education could reach the double figures. For KC, Amania Abid claimed three wickets. Chasing the modest target of 36 runs, Kinnaird College reached home safely in 2 overs with one wicket down. Fatima Shahid smashed sparkling 28 runs.

Lahore College for Women University secured the third position in the event.

The closing ceremony was graced by the Principal Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum, who distributed trophies and medals among the winning teams and players. Distinguished guests present during the ceremony included Vice Principal Dr. Kalsoom Akhtar, Dr. Aiysha Safdar, Academic Dean Social Sciences and Law, Dr. Helen Khokhar, Dean of Intermediate, and Dr. Ammara Rubab, Head of Sports Department.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Iram Anjum appreciated the efforts and performances of all participating teams and encouraged students to actively participate in sports alongside academics. She highlighted the importance of sports in promoting discipline, confidence, teamwork, and healthy competition among youth.
