Mitchell Marsh will continue to lead all formats as captain, with Australia scheduled to play three ODIs against Pakistan national cricket team in Rawalpindi and Lahore starting May 30, before travelling to face Bangladesh national cricket team in Dhaka for another three ODIs followed by the T20 series.
National selector George Bailey said the inclusion of emerging players reflects Australia’s strategy to balance experience with new talent during demanding tours in Asia. He noted that the blend of senior and inexperienced players would provide valuable exposure in challenging conditions.
Fast bowlers Billy Stanlake and Riley Meredith return to the ODI setup for the Pakistan series, while leg-spinner Tanveer Sangha has been selected across both 50-over squads. Meredith will remain with the group for the T20 phase in Bangladesh.
Several players, including Travis Head, Cooper Connolly, Ben Dwarshuis and Xavier Bartlett, will join the squad later after completing Indian Premier League commitments, replacing selected members for the Bangladesh ODIs.
