Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif paid heartfelt tribute to mothers on Mother’s Day, describing the occasion as a reminder to honour their extraordinary love, sacrifices and lifelong devotion toward families and society. She said mothers play an unmatched role in shaping strong families and responsible generations through their patience, care and endless support. Moreover, she called motherhood one of the greatest blessings and most respected relationships in human life.

In her special message, Maryam Nawaz praised courageous mothers who send their sons to defend the country and remembered the mothers of martyrs and military veterans with deep respect. She also acknowledged working mothers who struggle daily to provide better lives and opportunities for their children despite personal and professional challenges. The chief minister described mothers as a source of peace and strength during difficult times, comparing their presence to cool shade in the heat of life’s challenges and hardships. She said the bond between a mother and child is built on pure emotions, unconditional affection and lifelong care that cannot be replaced by any other relationship. In addition, she stated that mothers serve as the foundation of families and an important pillar supporting society.

Maryam Nawaz also said Mother’s Day encourages people to recognise and appreciate the countless sacrifices mothers make throughout their lives without expecting praise or reward in return. She shared that the occasion personally reminds her of the absence of her late mother every year and brings emotional memories of her love and support. Consequently, she urged people to value their mothers and express gratitude for their lifelong dedication and care.
