
Iran claimed its air defense systems shot down drones near the strategic Bandar Abbas region. Iranian media reported explosions and increased military activity in southern areas of the country. As a result, security concerns rose across the sensitive coastal zone.
According to state-linked reports, unidentified aerial objects entered restricted airspace near Bandar Abbas. Iranian air defense units quickly responded and intercepted two drones. Furthermore, officials said the systems successfully destroyed the incoming aerial threats before they could cause damage.
Reports from Tasnim News Agency stated that Iranian forces acted immediately after detecting suspicious drone activity. In addition, similar interceptions reportedly took place near Qeshm Island. Officials suggested that several small drones were involved in the operation.
Meanwhile, Mizan News Agency reported that explosions heard in Qeshm were connected to defensive military action. Authorities explained that the sounds came from attempts to intercept and disable the drones. However, officials did not reveal where the drones came from or who launched them.

Iranian authorities said no casualties or major property damage had been reported after the incident. Nevertheless, security agencies continued investigations into the drones and their possible origin. At the same time, officials kept monitoring the region because of its strategic location near major shipping routes.
