
The nominations for the 79th Annual Tony Awards 2026 were officially announced on May 5, 2026, highlighting major Broadway productions and leading stage performers across multiple competitive categories. The ceremony will take place on June 7 at Radio City Music Hall.
Organizers confirmed that singer-songwriter Pink will host the event, which will also stream on Paramount+ premium tier and air live on CBS. Actors Uzo Aduba and Darren Criss announced the nominations from Sofitel New York during a live broadcast.
This year’s nominations feature well-known stage and screen stars, including John Lithgow, Daniel Radcliffe, Rose Byrne, Lesley Manville, and Nathan Lane, all competing in leading performance categories for the 2025–2026 Broadway season.

In major play categories, Liberation, Giant, The Balusters, and Little Bear Ridge Road secured nominations, while Schmigadoon!, Titaníque, and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) lead the best new musical category.
The acting categories include strong competition, with Kelli O’Hara earning her ninth Tony nomination, while Rose Byrne, Carrie Coon, and Lesley Manville also received recognition for their standout performances in acclaimed productions this season.
Finally, the committee confirmed that 19 plays and 11 musicals qualified this year, selected by 55 theater professionals. Additionally, Lifetime Achievement Awards will honor James Lapine, Jules Fisher, and Andre Bishop for their long-standing contributions to theater.
