Medical Superintendent Dr. Jan Mohammad of the District Headquarters Hospital Wana confirmed that all seven injured civilians were brought to the facility shortly after the attack and are receiving treatment.

Security sources said militants attempted to strike the army installation using an explosives-laden vehicle. However, troops stationed at the post responded immediately after detecting the threat and intercepted the vehicle before it could reach its intended target.

Officials added that the suicide attacker was killed during the engagement, preventing what could have been a significantly larger loss of life and damage to infrastructure.

The explosive-laden vehicle was neutralised at a safe distance from the military post, helping limit the severity of the incident. Following the attack, security forces quickly cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to ensure no additional threats were present.

Authorities have not released further details regarding the group responsible for the attack, but security officials described the operation as swift and effective, crediting the response for averting a major tragedy.

The region has witnessed repeated security incidents in recent years, prompting heightened military vigilance and frequent counter-terrorism operations.

In a related development, security forces have recently intensified operations in border and tribal areas, focusing on preventing cross-border militant movement and dismantling armed networks operating in the region. Officials say ongoing intelligence-based operations aim to strengthen stability and prevent similar attacks in sensitive districts.

Further investigation into the latest incident is underway, and authorities are expected to release additional information once the situation is fully assessed. The injured civilians are reported to be in stable condition, while security forces remain on high alert in the area.
