
Karachi continues to experience intense hot weather as temperatures reached 38.5°C on Saturday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department. Officials warned that the heat is expected to increase further in the coming days.
The weather department forecast that the mercury may rise to 40°C on Sunday and could reach 41°C on Monday. It added that hot and dry conditions will persist across the metropolitan city during this period.

Moreover, a senior meteorological official advised citizens to take precautionary measures as heatwave conditions are likely to continue until May 3. He urged people to protect children, elderly individuals, and animals from prolonged exposure to extreme heat.
In addition, residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activity, especially during peak afternoon hours when temperatures remain at their highest. Authorities emphasized hydration and protective measures to reduce health risks linked to heat exposure.

Furthermore, weather experts stated that westerly winds may bring slight relief after the current heatwave phase ends. However, they cautioned that this relief may be temporary and limited in impact on overall temperature conditions.
Finally, the broader outlook for May and June remains concerning as higher-than-normal temperatures are expected across southern regions. Experts warned that multiple heatwaves could affect large parts of Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan in the coming months.
