Muzammil Aslam raised concerns over the impact of CNG shutdowns on the public. He said the suspension of gas supply is causing serious difficulties for commuters and transport operators. As a result, pressure is mounting on alternative fuel sources.
The Petroleum Minister reportedly said that Pakistan is currently facing a severe gas shortage. He added that additional supply may only be considered after the import of liquefied natural gas (LNG). Therefore, immediate restoration of supply to CNG stations is unlikely.
