‘Kafeel’ ends; cast bids farewell, viewers debate

Published on: April 30, 2026 11:35 AM

Popular drama ‘Kafeel’ has come to an end, leaving its cast emotional and viewers divided over some major decisions shown in the finale.

The social drama marked Umera Ahmed’s return to television writing and remained widely discussed for its strong performances, emotional storyline and prime-time appeal. The drama received strong TRPs and viewership throughout its run and remained a regular topic of discussion among viewers on social media.

The story and script were written by Umera Ahmed, while Meesam Naqvi directed the serial.

The drama featured a strong ensemble cast including Sanam Saeed, Emmad Irfani, Hassan Khan, Ashir Wajahat, Areeqa Haq and others. Fans appreciated the performances of the entire cast, saying each actor brought depth and emotion to their role.

The show received love for its social themes, character development and powerful acting.

After the drama concluded, the cast shared emotional messages and behind-the-scenes memories from the sets. They thanked fans for recognising their efforts and supporting the show throughout its journey. The actors said they were moved by the love they received and felt emotional as the project came to an end.

From Ashir Wajahat and Areeqa Haq to Abdullah Niazi and Rabya Afsar, several actors shared beautiful moments from the set. They expressed gratitude to the audience for appreciating their hard work. While many viewers were satisfied with the ending, some criticised Zeba’s decision to leave her children behind and move on. Several fans questioned why her young daughters did not go with her, especially when Jamal was shown as a good man who was ready to accept her children.

Some viewers felt this weakened the idea of Jamal being the real “kafeel” in Zeba’s life.

After the finale aired, criticism appeared online over how Zeba’s children were handled in the ending. One viewer wrote, “Why did she move on and left her children behind so easily?”

Another commented, “Jami should have forced her to bring the kids with her.” A third viewer asked, “If Jami is a gentleman and he was ready to be a kafeel, why did the daughters not go and live with them?”

Despite the criticism, many viewers loved Zeba and Jamal’s union in the finale. The nikah scene received appreciation from fans, with many recalling the couple’s early interactions and emotional journey.

One fan wrote that it was satisfying to see Zeba finally relaxed and valued. The viewer added that unlike her ex-husband Jamshed, Jamal thanked Zeba for coming into his life.

Some fans praised the drama for showing the difference between how a brother, father and husband can behave after marriage.

One viewer wrote that Zeba’s brother and father were far better than Warda’s.

Fans also appreciated Subuk’s character and his bond with Zeba. One viewer said Subuk gave “a real masterclass in maturity and what true manhood looks like.” The fan added that what truly stole their heart was Subuk’s bond with Zeba.

The unexpected proposal involving Subuk and Daneen also became a highlight of the finale. Fans loved the final scene at Daneen’s house and called it a sweet ending for both characters.

One social media user wrote that the way Subuk and Daneen looked at each other made the ending adorable for everyone. Another viewer said there should have been more episodes, especially to explore Subuk and Daneen’s story further. Some viewers were disappointed that Jami did not receive proper closure in the last episode.

One fan asked, “Why did Jami disappear in the end? How come the writer didn’t show him in the finale?”

Another viewer said the makers should have shown Jami in regret. A few fans also felt the finale was rushed and could have benefited from additional episodes. ‘Kafeel’ ended with a mix of emotional reactions, praise and criticism. While many viewers celebrated Zeba and Jamal’s happy ending, others questioned the handling of Zeba’s children and Jami’s storyline.

Still, the drama’s strong performances, Umera Ahmed’s writing and its social message helped it remain one of the most talked-about Pakistani dramas of its season.
